To provide a drum type washing machine capable of sufficiently obtaining a washing effect by a surfactant and microbubbles.
In a water circulation system (circulation route) 16, an air mix-in route 59 for mixing air in a circulation pump 20 is provided, and an air mix-in control means 62 for controlling the mix-in of the air from the air mix-in route 59 during a washing process and a rinsing process is provided. Thus, the air can be pulled in from an air suction port 58 when the circulation pump 20 is driven. The case of generating washing water containing the microbubbles holding the surfactant on the surface by a simple and highly reliable configuration, jetting it to clothes inside a rotary drum 4 and washing them can be switched with the case of washing them using high jetting force and circulation flow rate by the washing water containing almost no microbubbles, and washing force and rinsing force are increased.
