The drum type washing machine is designed to control a first water supply means 11 and a second water supply means 12 up to a first prescribed water level lower than a second prescribed water level during a cleaning process so as to make the action of the second water supply means precede the action of the first water supply means in supplying water in a first water supply process, execute a rotation control action to rotate a rotary drum 5 for a prescribed period at a second prescribed rotation speed higher than a first prescribed rotation speed in the cleaning process by controlling a driving motor 7 in a detergent bubble generation process, supply water up to the first prescribed water level by controlling the second water supply means 12 in a second water supply process, and then execute the cleaning process, and can make washing quickly soak a washing solution and water circulated in the rotary drum 5 and strike-cleans the washing sufficiently soaked with a liquid detergent at an early stage, the machine can improve the washing power and reduce washing time.
