To provide a washing and drying machine allowing drying operation with reduced power consumption while keeping pressure inside a drum case to a predetermined value or lower without discharging high humidity air indoors.
The washing and drying machine includes: an outer tub; a rotary drum or an inner tub; a motor for driving the rotary drum or the inner tub; a case; a drying device including an air conduit, a heater and an air blower for blowing hot air to the rotary drum or the inner tub, and a dehumidifying part; a drain hose for discharging water discharged from the outer tub; an instrument for discharging all or a part of the air discharged from the rotary drum or the inner tub through the drain hose during the drying operation; an inlet valve arranged in the air conduit on the upstream side of the air blower for sucking air in a space between an upper face of the outer tub and the case into the air conduit; and a controller for controlling opening and closing of the inlet valve for adjusting pressure inside the drum case when air is discharged through the drain hose.
