To provide a device for drying clothes or others, which contains a small heat pump apparatus that can be housed in a longitudinally small space formed in the lower back of a laundry drying drum tank inside a casing and that can maintain prescribed drying performance while curbing an increase in drying noise by suppressing an increase in ventilation resistance in an airflow channel formed inside the heat pump apparatus.
The drying device is configured to cause a stream of air to the side part 25b of a discharge chamber 25 which is continuous from an inflow port 19a of a heat absorber airflow channel 19 positioned on the left side of a casing 1 to large openings in the upper part 23a and the side part 23b of an air inlet chamber 23, and is further continuous to an outlet port 20b of a heat radiator airflow channel 20 positioned on the right side opposite to the inflow port 19a. Since the drying device keeps a large cross section of the effective airflow channel from the heat absorber airflow channel 19 to an air absorber 12 and a heat radiator 13 in a heat exchange chamber 14 and reduces the flow speed, it can suppress an increase in ventilation resistance inside the heat absorber airflow channel 19 and in the heat absorber 12.
