To provide a dual fuel engine including a fuel injection system realizing a high reliability and low cost pilot injection function under a combination of a mechanical driving type fuel injection pump and an automatic valve.
This invention relates to a dual fuel engine operated under exchanging of liquid fuel and gas fuel. The dual fuel engine includes a fuel injection device for pilot injection as a kindling for the gas fuel. The fuel injection device includes a jerk type fuel injection pump driven in response to the number of rotation of the engine and a distributing mechanism driven at a half number of rotation of the engine. High pressure fuel forcedly fed from the fuel injection pump is fed and distributed to each of the cylinders by the distributing mechanism.
