Abstract:

To improve the seal performance of a dust cover.SOLUTION: A dust cover 12 is elastically deformable, and used in a ball joint 100 having a ball stud 20 having a shaft part 21 and a spherical part 22 arranged at one end of the shaft part 21, a socket 30 having a bearing part 33 for supporting the spherical part 22, and an annular knuckle 40 arranged at the other end of the shaft part 21 and surrounding an external peripheral face of the other end, the knuckle 40 having an annular face 40S bulging from the external peripheral face of the shaft part 21 at the spherical part 22 side, in which a fixed part 51 fixed to the socket 30, an annular seal part 52 for pressing the annular face 40S, and a flank part 53 located between the fixed part 51 and the seal part 52 are integrally formed. The dust cover 12 has an annular body 54 fixed to an internal peripheral face of the seal part 52 and abutting on an external peripheral face of the shaft part 21, the annular body 54 having a static friction coefficient with respect to the external peripheral face of the shaft part 21 smaller than that of the seal part 52.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
