Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust removal method in a converter skirt seal part which enables low-cost and reliable removal of dust within a water seal tank and prevention of damage of refractory at an early stage of starting operation.SOLUTION: A dust removal method is for a converter skirt seal part which includes flue 3 arranged above the converter throat 2 and a skirt part 5 covering the converter throat while ascending and descending according to the tilting of the converter and in which a sleeve 4 formed in the lower end of the flue 3 is immersed in an annular water sealing vessel 6 formed around the skirt part 5 and water-sealed. Steam is supplied into the water sealing vessel 6 to stir and heat sealing water in the vessel, and the dust in the vessel is caused to flow and discharged from the lower part of the water sealing vessel 6.
