Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retort for heat reduction of magnesium which can improve heat transfer performance between the head part and the inner cylinder.SOLUTION: A retort 1 for heat reduction of magnesium includes a body 2 to be inserted into a heating furnace and a head part 4 positioned outside the heating furnace, and a water-cooling jacket part 3 is provided in the head part. The inside surface of the head part is a tapered surface 8 converged toward the side of the body, and an inner cylinder 9 which can be inserted freely from the side opposite to the body and has an outside surface coming in tight contact with the tapered surface is provided inside the head part. A continuous peripheral groove 37 is formed in the outside surface of the inner cylinder in the circumferential direction, and the inside surface of the inner cylinder is also tapered so as to be converged toward the side of the body. Since the inside surface of the head part and the outside surface of the inner cylinder are both tapered surfaces, the inner cylinder can be adhered to the head part by pushing the inner cylinder into the retort, leading to improvement of heat transfer performance of the inner cylinder and the head part and resultant improvement of the recovery efficiency of magnesium metal.
