PURPOSE: To obtain a bright and transparent red color picture image without fog and to obtain a copy having good light resistance by using a dye of specified compsn. for a post-dyeing red color toner.
CONSTITUTION: The dye for a piece-dyeing red color toner is expressed by formula, and the dye is used for the color toner. In formula, R1 and R2 may be same or different and are hydrogen atoms, halogen atoms, phenylthio groups or phenoxy groups which may have substituents. The red color toner is obtd. by dyeing a toner resin with using the red dye expressed by formula and a nonion or anion dispersant. As for the dyeing assistant, a nonion or anion dispersant is used. The dispersant to be used to dye the post-dyeing color toner must be colorless or slightly colored because if the dispersant itself is colored, decoloration is not completely performed although a water-washing process or the like is included.
