Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize sufficient dyeability and dyeing stability at the same time, and increase the safety and improve the working environment in a process which dyes a poorly dyeable plastic lens using a carrier agent. SOLUTION: This method for dyeing a plastic lens comprises immersing the plastic lens in a dyeing liquid, in which a disperse dye is dispersed/dissolved, to dye it. In this process, a dyeing liquid containing at least >=80 pts.wt. of water and 0.1-20 pts.wt. of a carrier agent is used as the dyeing liquid, and the liquid temperature of the dyeing liquid is kept in the range from 0 deg.C to 80 deg.C.
