To provide eddy current deceleration equipment wherein a space for attaching a control valve on a side surface of a vehicle frame is unnecessary and controllability becomes superior.
In this eddy current deceleration equipment, a fixed retaining ring 1a wherein a plurality of permanent magnets 3a, 3b are arranged circumferentially in such a manner that polarities are made reverse to each other, and a turning retaining ring 1b, are arranged in parallel, and a plurality of switching plates 2 which are constituted of ferromagnetic members and magnetically isolated from each other are arranged facing each other on an outer peripheral magnetic pole surface of a group of permanent magnets 3a, 3b. The control valve 11 for controlling pivot operation of the pivot retaining ring 1b is arranged on the eddy current deceleration equipment. As a result, the space for attaching the control valve on the vehicle frame is unnecessary, mounting on a vehicle is facilitated, and a distance from the control valve to a turning mechanism of the turning retaining ring is reduced, so that controllability is improved.
