Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce difference of brightness in a border part of divided screens in an EL(electroluminescence) display device in which drive is performed by reversing polarity for each field by applying scanning voltage to a scanning electrode by push-pull operation and matrix display is performed by screen division.
SOLUTION: Scanning electrode driving circuits 4, 5 apply scanning voltage to scanning electrodes 21-2n with different polarity for each field by push-pull operation. In this case, scanning voltage is applied to scanning electrodes of the lower part from the scanning electrode 21 in the case of the upper screen 1a, and scanning voltage is applied to scanning electrodes of the upper part from the scanning electrode 2n in the case of the lower screen 1b. At the time of switching a field, waveform distortion occurs in supplied voltage from a voltage supplying circuit 8 by charge and discharge to an EL panel 1, its influence appears on the upper edge of the upper screen 1a and the lower edge of the lower screen 1b, while scanning voltage can be made equal in a border part between the upper screen 1a and the lower screen 1b, thus brightness difference in the border part can be reduced.
