The electric lock device starts clocking of an open time when opening of the door is detected by a sensor, and reports the failure to close the door by operating an alarm if the door is still open after the lapse of a predetermined time. The alarm is operated again even if stopped by manual operation if the door is still open after the lapse of the predetermined time, and if the door is closed during the operation of the alarm, automatic locking is performed, and the alarm is stopped. If the alarm is stopped and the door is closed within the predetermined time, only locking is automatically performed.
