Abstract:

To restrict occurrence of irregular noise of flowing refrigerant when a refrigerant flowing passage is opened or closed without increasing the cost of an expansion valve.

This valve is constructed such that an electric opening or closing valve 20 is integrally assembled with a temperature responsive type expansion valve 19 acting to perform a controlling of degree of super-heat. This opening or closing valve 20 is provided with a pilot valve 500 and a main valve 50 of which opening or closing is controlled by a stepping motor 20a. A valve passage hole 31 at a downstream side of a squeezing passage 26 is opened or closed by the main valve 50. With such an arrangement as above, controlling of the degree of super-heat for the refrigerant is accomplished by a pure mechanical mechanism of a temperature responsive type expansion valve 19 as found in the prior art, resulting in that a complex electronic control device such as a refrigerant temperature sensor and a refrigerant pressure sensor can be eliminated and an increasing in cost of the expansion valve can be avoided. In addition, when the refrigerant passage is opened or closed, a valve opening or closing speed can be freely set in reference to a frequency of pulse applied to the stepping motor 20a and the flow passage can be gradually opened or closed, so that occurrence of irregular noise of the flowing refrigerant can be restricted.
