To extend the time required before a clogging occurs between fins with frost by a method wherein side edges of the fins are formed in a slant manner in such a way that the length of each of side edges of the fins facing against an air inlet side of a cold air passage may be elongated.
An evaporator is provided with a continuous fin 11 composed of an elongated aluminum one plate at a straight line part of an aluminum tube which is bent in a serpentine form. Then, each of a plurality of continuous fins 11 is formed with a side edge 11a in a slant manner in such a way that a length of the side edge 11a facing against an air inlet side A of a cold air passage 100 having a predetermined width W of a refrigerator. With such an arrangement as above, a frosting area is increased by several times and a uniform frosting can be attained, so that it is possible to make a substantial elongation of time until the entire length of the side edge 11a is frosted.
