Abstract:
To provide an electrode for an electron gun and an electron gun capable of orientation control which can be manufactured at low cost, by the use of a carbon material with a work function small and stable.
A carbon electrode 10 consisting of an amorphous carbon and a carbon nanotube or carbon nanofiber molded in a linear shape is used as an electrode for an electron gun. The carbon electrode is obtained by mixing a resin which turns a graphitization-resistant carbon after baking such as chlorinated vinyl chloride or a furan resin with carbon powder of carbon nanotube and carbon nanofiber, extrusion molding the mixture and baking it.
