Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode extension device which can attain improvement of work efficiency from taking out a new electrode from a storage site to connecting to a present use electrode.
SOLUTION: A new electrode 9 horizontally placed in an electrode storing site 10 is left as horizontally facing, to be clamped by a clamp part 31, this electrode 9 is made vertically facing, to be guided to an end part of a present use electrode 8 in an electric furnace 1, an upper end part of the present use electrode 8 is extended by an electrode extension mechanism 40, so that work can be efficiently performed, which is complicated to take a considerable length of time by changing the horizontally placed electrode 9 into vertical placement transferred to the electrode extension mechanism 40.
