PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a lithium secondary battery in which a high output characteristic is obtained in applying this to the lithium secondary battery.
SOLUTION: This is the electrode for the lithium secondary battery which has an electrode mix layer including an active material and a binder, where the binder includes a hydrophilic binder composed of a cellulose derivative and a binder having affinity for the electrolytic solution containing a polyether structure, or includes a block type binder which is hydrophilic and has affinity for the electrolytic solution composed of the cellulose derivative to which a side chain having affinity for electrolytic solution possessing a polyether structure is grafted, or in which a dispersant soluble to a nonaqueous electrolytic solution is dispersed. That is, a part in which lithium ion conductivity is large is formed locally in a part of the binder covering the active material surface so that cell reaction can be made to proceed smoothly and improvement of an output characteristic can be made possible even when a large current is discharged or the battery is operated at low temperatures, by realizing a structure of the electrode mix layer wherein lithium ion conduction is facilitated between the active material and the nonaqueous electrolytic solution.
