An anode electrode 2, the organic EL layer 3, a cathode electrode 4, and an inorganic protection film 5 are formed on the upper surface of a transparent board 1. A steam adsorption layer 12 is formed on the undersurface of an opposite board 11. Both the substrates 1 and 11 are stuck with each other through a sealant 13 which consists of epoxy system resin. And by existence of the opposite board 11, the sealing by the sealant 13, and the steam adsorption layer 12, moisture resistance can be improved and generation and growth of the dark spot can be controlled. Moreover, when sticking both the substrates 1 and 11, pressure added to the organic EL layer 3 can be prevented. For this reason, the organic EL layer 3 is not crushed and the generating of short circuit between both the electrodes 2 and 4 that could ensue, can be prevented.
