Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase braking torque without causing the upsizing of a device as a whole.
SOLUTION: A plurality of guide grooves 32, 33 are formed on the internal peripheral face 27 and the external peripheral face 28 of a yoke block 19, and rollers 34 composed of magnetic materials are accommodated in the guide grooves 32, 33 so as to freely advance and retreat. A rotating cylindrical hysteresis material 29 is interposed between the internal peripheral face 27 and the external peripheral face 28 of the yoke block 19. When an electromagnetic coil 20 is energized, each of the rollers 34 contacts the hysteresis material 29, and freely rolls with respect to the circumferential face of the hysteresis material 29. Since a gap is hardly created between the roller 34 and the hysteresis material 29 at this time, the large braking torque can be obtained. Furthermore, since a plurality of rollers 34 advance and retreat individually, stable braking performance can be constantly obtained.
