To provide a device and a method where, in a technique of melting a titanium ingot by electron beam melting with titanium scrap as a melting raw material, titanium scrap with variation in feeding quantity and dimensions can be stably utilized as a melting raw material, and a titanium ingot having excellent quality can be stably melted at a high yield.
The electron beam melting device for metal titanium includes: a raw material feeding means; an electron beam emission means; a hearth holding a molten metal obtained by melting the fed metallic raw material; and a mold cooling a molten metal so as to obtain an ingot, wherein the raw material feeding means is composed of a lumpy raw material feeding means and a granular raw material feeding means. Further, in the electron beam melting method for a metal using the electron beam melting device, the lumpy raw material and the granular raw material are simultaneously fed to the hearth.
