To provide an inexpensive electronic lighting device, capable of lighting a fluorescent lamp with a single kick pulse, preventing a starting error, restarting after a shut-off, and having a momentary simple circuit configuration.
The electronic lighting device 10 switches the charging time and preheating time by switching a semiconductor switch of preheating switch means 16 with a first timer means 13 and a switching means 14 and then turns the semiconductor switch off with a second timer means 15 to generate a kick pulse to turn on the fluorescent lamp. During the charging time of the first timer means 13, preparation operation is performed, and the charging time of the second timer means 15 is set corresponding to a necessary preheating time, allowing ensuring lighting operation, preventing the starting error, and restarting after any momentary shut-off.
