Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enhance sensitivity, repeated uses-enduring characteristics, and image uniformity by using a specified acetylene derivative as an electric charge transfer material.

CONSTITUTION: The photosensitive layer contains at least one of the acetylene derivatives represented by formula I in which each of Ar1 and Ar2 is an aromatic carbocyclic group or heterocylic group; and Ar3 is an arylene group or a divalent condensed polycyclic aromatic or divalent aromatic heterocyclic group. Said compound effectively serves as the charge transfer material, thus permitting sensitivity and image uniformity to be enhanced and changes of electrophotographic characteristics at the time of repeated uses to be reduced.
