To provide an electrostatic capacity sensor comprising an electrode for detecting an electrostatic capacity change of a user and a detection circuit for transforming the change detected by the electrode into an electric signal and a vacuum cleaner provided with the sensor.
The electrostatic capacity sensor for a household appliance comprises the electrode 10 for detecting the electrostatic capacity change of the user and the detection circuit 20 for transforming the change detected by the electrode 10 into the electric signal. The vacuum cleaner incorporating the sensor is provided with a blower 3, a floor nozzle 7, a handle part 5, an extension pipe 6 and a detection means for detecting user's gripping state. The detection means comprises the electrode 10 provided on both of the handle part 5 and the extension pipe 6 or on either one and for detecting the electrostatic capacity change of the user and the detection circuit 20 for transforming the change detected by the electrode 10 into the electric signal.
