A crowdedness degree recognition means 4 judges a degree of crowdedness in a car based on load in the car detected by a load detection means 10, displays it in a crowdedness degree display device 6, and outputs it into the device. When there is a hall call operation by a call button 7 provided on a landing place at each story, the hall call is registered by a call registration control part 2, and if there is hall call cancellation operation, the registration of the hall call is cancelled by a call cancellation control part 3. A group management controller 12 allocates an elevator corresponding to hall call during registration based on signals from the call registration control part 2 and the call cancellation control part 3. Consequently, a passenger can select a car in accordance with a degree of crowdedness of the car.
