Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an endohedral fullerene production device and method capable of enabling inclusion of various substances, and efficiently producing, in an energy-saving manner, an endohedral fullerene including one of the substances. [Solution] An endohedral fullerene production device 100 is characterized by having: a fullerene diffusion part having a substance-to-be-included supporting section 5 on which a substance 4 to be included is supported, a crucible 6, and a heating section 7; a fullerene deposition substrate 3 on which a sublimed fullerene diffused from the fullerene diffusion part is deposited; a laser light irradiation part 1 which irradiates the substance 4 to be included with laser light to ablate the substance 4 to be included, and controls the energy of the irradiation so that kinetic energy sufficient for inclusion into a fullerene is given to an inclusion substance in the substance 4 to be included; and a vacuum container 9, wherein the substance 4 to be included is caused to make contact with the sublimed fullerene, etc., so that an endohedral fullerene is produced, in a state where the substance 4 to be included is diffused in the ablated state and the kinetic energy of the substance 4 to be included is controlled.
