Title:
ENGINE MOUNTING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09123770
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To dispense with a dynamic damper by forming a plane containing principal axes of inertia and a vertical line which pass through the centers of gravity of an engine and of a transmission, providing three or more mounts, and locating all the mounts at least near the plane.

When an engine 8 is driven, vibration from the engine 8 is transmitted to a transmission 10, and vibrations from the engine 8 and the transmission 10 are transmitted to a mounting bracket. Because mounts MT1, MT2, MT3, MT4 are located near a plane 16, vibration of the automotive body is not increased when the engine 8 is driven, particularly at idle. The engine 8 is supported on the first and second mounts MT1, MT2, and the transmission 10 is supported on the third mount MT3, thus ensuring that the movement of the engine can be restricted.
