Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3935224
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To profitably and easily obtain the subject derivative of L-type having a significant herbicidal activity against various weeds by using a selectively active L-amino acid-cleaving enzyme or microorganism.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A mixture (preferably a mixture containing L type in an enriched amount) of D- and L-2-amino-4-methylphosphenylbutanoic acid (D- and L-PTC) derivatives of formulas I and II (R1 is a 1-20C, preferably 1-10C, alkyl, a 3-8C, preferably 5-6C, cycloalkyl or the like; R2 is H, formyl, a 1-20C, preferably 1-10C, alkylcarbonyl, benzoyl or the like) is treated with (B) an active hydrolase, preferably a selectively active L-amino acid-cleaving enzyme or a microorganism synthesizing the enzyme [for example, Enterobacter EOGENES (DSM 9164) or Klebsiella OKISITOKA (DSM 9162)] in water solvent or a water-organic solvent to separate the L-PTC derivative.
