Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject aqueous dispersion useful as a coating material, adhesive or a textile processing agent, by using a specific polyether compound as emulsifier so as to afford the dispersion with excellent preservability and prevent the cured product therefrom from heat discoloration.
SOLUTION: This epoxy resin aqueous dispersion comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of an epoxy resin of formula I (R3 and R4 are each H or an alkyl; (m) is 0-20), (B) 0.01-30 pts.wt. of a bisphenol-based polyether compound consisting of (B1) an alkylene oxide 80-800mol adduct to a compound of formula II (R1 and R2 are each the same as R3) or (B2) a condensate formed by condensation reaction of the component B1 with a polyisocyanate compound, and (C) 20-700 pts.wt. of water, and, according as necessary, (D) 0.01-30 pts.wt. of an alcohol-based or phenolic polyether compound consisting of (D1) an alkylene oxide adduct to an aliphatic monohydric or polyhydric alcohol or an alkylphenol or (D2) a condensate formed by condensation reaction of the component D1 with a polyisocyanate compound.
