Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original size detecting device which does not erroneously detect original size by preventing an original detecting means from erroneously detecting the original.
SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a bend detection means 9 detecting that a bendable original cover plate 2 positioned on a contact glass 8 and provided to be freely opened/closed is not bent in specified form, and outputting a detected result; an opening/closing state detection means 3 detecting that the original cover plate 2 is opened at a specified angle and outputting the detected result; original detection means 12, 13, 14 and 15 having a light emitting part and a light receiving part for detecting the original 10 and disposed below the contact glass 8; and a control means 11. The control means 11 decides the original size based on output from the means 9, output from the means 3 and output from the means 12, 13, 14 and 15.
