Abstract:
To provide an epoxy resin emulsion and a water paint composition containing the same capable of forming a coating film improved in weather resistance and flexibility without a loss in their characteristic water resistance or toughness.
The epoxy resin emulsion is prepared by the dispersion into water of (B) an acrylic modified epoxy resin in the presence of a dispersion stabilizer which is (A) modified epoxy resin obtained by reaction among (a) polyethylene glycol having a number average molecular weight of 400-20,000, (b) a bisphenol epoxy resin, (c) a compound having an active hydrogen atom in a molecule, and (d) a compound having two or more active isocyanate groups in a molecule.
