PURPOSE: To decrease a detection error even against an error in the amplitude direction and the phase direction, with regard to the equalization detecting system for equalizing and detecting a receiving signal or a reproducing signal in a data transmission system or a data recording system.
CONSTITUTION: The system is provided with equalization detecting parts 3-1, 3-2 of two systems consisting of equalizers 1-1, 1-2 and detectors 2-1, 2-2. An equalization characteristic of one equalizer 1-1, and an equalization characteristic of the other equalizer 1-2 are denoted as Σi0inai2>Σi0in+1(ai-ai-1)2, and Σi0inai2<Σi0in+1(ai--ai-1)2, respectively, and with respect to an input signal passing through a transmission line or a recording medium 5, an equalization detection which decreases an error in the amplitude direction is executed by the equalization detecting part 3-1. Subsequently, an equalization detection which decreases an error in the phase direction is executed by the equalization detection part 3-2, and by a logic circuit 4, an error detection is decreased furthermore by a logical processing of detection output signal of both of them.
