PURPOSE: To evaluate even such a digital video equipment that performs the complicated changes of images by comparing the output signals with each other between the 1st and 2nd digital video equipments while controlling them in the same operation state and detecting the error that is contained in the output signal of the 1st equipment.

CONSTITUTION: A digital video equipment evaluation device 1 is provided with two video equipments of the same type and defines these two equipments as a reference equipment 4 and an evaluation object equipment 5 respectively. The signals are inputted to both equipments 4 and 5 from a digital video signal generator 2. Then an error detection circuit 8 can detect the error contained in the output signal of the equipment 5 based on the output signals of both equipments 4 and 5 while these equipments are controlled in the same operation state. Furthermore, an image is displayed on a monitor 15 based on the detected error information. Thus it is possible to monitor the error occurrence state while visually confirming the corresponding image or to analyze the defective parts of the image.
