To provide an exchange that incorporates a normal connection function of an ISDN line and a charging surrogate collection function of the dial Q2 (R) system, provides contents digest information to a terminal in the normal connection and distributes contents through line connection by the dial Q2 and to provide a control method for the exchange.

The exchange 3 connects a data communication terminal 1 in a normal connection state to a D-channel to a contents provision server 6 via an IP network 4, provides contents digest information to the terminal 1, transmits a contents request from the terminal 1 to the server 6 via the normal connection, receives a call using a dial Q2 number from the terminal 1 in response to a call instruction by the dial Q2 number from the contents provision server, sets a B channel to the server being a destination of the dial Q2 number via a terminal adaptor TA 2, applies IP connection to the terminal and the server, distributes the contents from the server and conducts charging on the basis of dial Q2 communication information.
