To deter the adhesion of fine particles to the face or the like within a gas discharge pipe, in condition that an exhaust generation source is operated.
Cleaning water is supplied intermittently to the bottom of an exhaust cylinder 11 by a first water supply means 17, and the cleaning water diffused in spray form from the bottom of the exhaust cylinder 11 is accompanied with fine particles floating within a fusion furnace body 2. It is led to the uppermost part of a gas discharge pipe 14, and the cleaning water condensed at the uppermost part of the gas discharge pipe 14 flows in a gas processor via the gas discharge pipe 14. Moreover, the cleaning water is supplied intermittently to the uppermost part of the gas discharge pipe 14 by means of a second water supply means 18, and the fine particles within the gas discharge pipe 14 are washed away to the gas processor, thus the accumulation of the fine particles on the inner face of the gas discharge pipe 14 is prevented.
