To facilitate the discharge of dross cake by raising the strength of a slit die which is so arranged as to receive and compress aluminum dross and separate the contained metal.
In an object which is so arranged as to accept aluminum dross onto a group of fixed crosspiece 4 and a group of mobile crosspiece 5 being arranged alternately, at right angles to a fixed shaft 1 on base side and a fixed shaft 2 on tip side counterposed in parallel, between those fixed shafts 1 and 2, and to squeeze and separate the fused metal contained in the aluminum dross by the compressive operation by a compression mechanism where a press plate is interposed properly, and to discharge the dross remaining on the group of crosspieces 4 and 5, by annularly rotating one end of the mobile crosspiece 5 on base end side, the bulging projections are made, for every second arranged crosspiece 1, at the fixed shaft on base side, and the tip side of each fixed crosspiece 4 is set in each recess between the bulging projections.
