Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust secondary air feed control device for an internal combustion engine to properly activate a catalyst by evenly feeding secondary air.
SOLUTION: An exhaust secondary air feed control device 1 to control a feed of air to a catalyst 7 arranged in an exhaust pipe 6 to purify exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine 3 is provided with an exhaust secondary air feed device 10, a water temperature sensor 8c to detect an engine water temperature TW, an intake air temperature sensor 8a to detect an intake air temperature TA, a RAM 2b to store an engine water temperature TWBU during a stop, and an ECU 2. The UCU 2 calculates the energizing time ctAP of the air pump 12 of the exhaust secondary air feed device 10 and computes a temperature difference TWBU-TW between an engine water temperature TWBU during a stop stored at an RAM 2b and an engine water temperature TW during starting. It is decided according to the temperature difference whether a stop time between a stop period and a starting period is short. When it is decided that a stop time is short, a working time (an energization time) ctAP is corrected according to a temperature difference DTWTAAP between the engine water temperature TW and the intake air temperature TA during starting.
