To provide an expansion body for a bridge easy to expand following the expansion of the bridge.
The expansion body 1 for the bridge which follows the expansion of the bridge is formed by introducing beforehand a large number of cracks 3 in the unit of μ into a cement-mortar-based precast base 2 using a cement complex of high tenacity as a main material. The number of cracks 3 introduced in the expansion direction of the base 2 is set at the number that absorbs the contraction quantity and expansion quantity of the expansion body 1 for the bridge. The base 2 has a small Young's modulus compared to mortar, concrete, or the like. The expansion body 1 for the bridge is disposed between the floor slabs or between the floor slab and an abutment and connected by a post-cast material such as mortar or concrete. An adhesion reducing material is provided between the bottom face of the disposed expansion body 1 for the bridge and the post-cast material thereunder.
