Abstract:
To provide an external layer material for rolling mill roll in which wear resistance and surface roughing resistance are improved by forming the shape of MC carbides into granular shape and dispersing the MC carbides finely and uniformly and also to provide a rolling mill roll using the same.
The external layer material for rolling mill roll has a chemical composition consisting of, by mass, 1.0 to 3.0% C, 0.3 to 3.0% Si, 0.3 to 1.5% Mn, 0.1 to 2.0% Ni, 3.0 to 7.0% Cr, 0.1 to 8.0% Mo, 3.0 to 12.0% V, 0.005 to 0.1% Ce and the balance Fe with impurity elements and also has a metallic structure having the granular MC carbides in an amount of 5 to 15 area%.
