Abstract:

To provide a fat cell differentiation promoter having a fat cell differentiation promoting action and, nevertheless, daily takable as a safe food.

The fat cell differentiation promoter for forming a fat cell from a precursor fat cell contains 3-(4,8-dimethylnona-3,7-dienyl)-5-(methylpent-3-enyl)-p-hydroxybenzoic acid or its pharmacologically allowable salt as an active component. The invention further provides a visceral fat increase suppressing agent containing the salt as an active component and a food containing the fat cell differentiation promoter.
