Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the complexity by enabling discrimination without touching a device.
CONSTITUTION: Information obtained by a collation range determining means 1 and a center determining means 2 is taken over by a feature point processing means 3, a raster scan on only the face part of an image after an undetermined part is moved and an outline part is found is made, and pixels are classified and counted by pixel values. Further, data which are classified into 256 stages are grouped into 20 stages. At this time, the right and left half parts of the face are counted individually according to the coordinates of a center line calculated by a center determining means 2. There is little possibility that the right and left of the face of a person is exactly the same and collation is performed on the basis of data obtained in consideration of natural features. Feature points which are thus obtained are (1) variance in the number of pixels among the groups in a half face surface, (2) variance in the number of pixels between each of the half face parts in the same group, and (3) variance in the number of pixels between the right and left parts of the whole face.
