PURPOSE: To remove a malodor of feces of livestock and a pet, etc., and deodorize the feces.
CONSTITUTION: This feed additive for deodorizing feces of livestock and a pet, etc., is obtained by extracting soil with water, preparing water containing soil bacteria, adding an iron salt in an amount of 0.5-10wt.% based on the water containing the soil bacteria, mixing the resultant aqueous solution in an amount of 20-100wt.% based on an adsorbent and/or absorbent materials therewith and air-drying and immobilizing the resultant muddy material. The adsorbent or absorbent material or both containing the soil bacteria and iron salt are preferably previously fermented. The additive is mixed in a feed and supplied thereto to thereby check the emission of sulfur- and nitrogen-containing gases to be a malodor source produced in the body of livestock and pet, etc., due to both the promotion of digesting and decomposing actions with the soil bacteria and the formation of odorless materials with the iron salt.
