Title:
FERRITIC HEAT RESISTANT CAST STEEL AND ITS MANUFACTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05320830
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the heat resistance of ferritic heat resistant cast steel without sacrificing its oxidation resistance, machinability and structural stability and to increase its applicability to an automotive engine exhaust system.

CONSTITUTION: The objective steel is constituted of, by weight, 0.05 to 0.5% C, 1.0 to 2.0% Si, <0.6% Mn, <0.04% P, <0.04% S, <0.5% Ni, 10 to 20% Cr, 0.1 to 1.0% V, 0.5 to 1.0% Nb, 0.10 to 0.50% Mo and <0.01% W, and, if required, 0.01 to 0.50% Al is furthermore added thereto. After being cast, it is subjected to annealing treatment by holding at 850 to 1000°C for 1 to 5hr and successively gradually cooling to ≤700°C.
