Abstract:

To obtain a fiber product more comfortable than conventional ones, having flexibility, moisture retention, yellowing proofness and antistaticity, thus suitable as underwear and diaper, by modifying fibers with trimethylglycine.

This textile fiber is obtained by incorporating the original fiber with about 0.01-50wt.% of trimethylglycine of the formula (also referred to as glycinebetaine). It is preferable that the trimethylglycine is obtained from an extract taken by chromatography from the ground product of sugar beet, malt, fruits, mushroom, shrimp, crab, octopus, cuttlefish, etc.
