PURPOSE: To obtain a filler-contg. thermoplastic molding material which possesses excellent impact strength, comprising a thermoplastic polyamide, a modified polyphenylene ether, a specified glass fiber or carbon fiber, and a pigment.
CONSTITUTION: This thermoplastic molding material comprises: (A) 10 to 84.8 wt.% thermoplastic polyamide as a main component; (B) 10 to 84.8 wt.% modified polyphenylene ether; (C) 5 to 50 wt.% glass fiber or carbon fiber having an average fiber length I50 (bar) of 150 to 400 μm or a mixture thereof; (D) 0.2 to 4 wt.% pigment; (E) 0 to 4 wt.% modification rubber for imparting impact resistance; (F) 0 to 20 wt.% filler having a particle form different from the component (D); and (G) 0 to 20 wt.% flameproofing agent. A polyamide having a mol.wt. of about 15,000 to 45,000 and a relative viscosity of 2.4 to 3.5 is advantageously used as the polyamide.
