To provide a film detection sensor detecting whether a film exists or not regardless of the type of film in an automatic photographic film developing device and the like.

A detection lever 121 is pressed by a coil spring 124 and the like so as to be rotated in a prescribed direction. When the film does not exist, the first arm 122 of the lever 121 is made to enter a film carrying path F so as to interfere with the path F in terms of a space. When the leading edge 33 of the film 3 abuts on the arm 122, the lever 121 is rotated in a reverse direction to the prescribed direction. Then, the rotating state of the lever 121 is detected by a light emitting element 124 and a light receiving element 126 so as to judge whether the film 3 exists or not.
