PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively improve both crease and cast wall accretion generated on the face of a film without deteriorating productivity by using a tenter process or a roll drying process as they are by an ordinary solution film forming method.
SOLUTION: This film manufacturing method comprises the steps of casting a molten dope obtained by dissolving a polymer material in a solvent over a casting band 18; releasing the cast dope from the casting band 18 as the film 22 and performing a tenter processing for orienting or regulating the released film 22 in the width direction; and carrying out a drying processing for drying the film 22 while conveying the film 22 hooked across a plurality of rolls 32. The solvent content of the film 22 at the time of starting the roll drying processing after the tenter process, is set within the range of 3 to 8 wt% and the surface temperature of the film 22 during the roll drying processing, is set within the range of Tg (glass transition point temperature) of the film 22-15°C to Tg and the degree of elongation of the film 22 in the conveying direction is set within the range of -2 to 3 %.
