To provide a film processing unit capable of surely feeding a photo film loop to a loop formation space even when the entrance size of the loop formation space is not sufficient.
This film processing unit comprises a chucker C for receiving a photo film from an upstream transportation roller pair 32b at a receiving position, a pinch roller pair 40 positioned in the chucker C to hold the tip division of the received photo film, a loop box 50 for accommodating a loop of photo film to be formed during transportation from a receiving position to a transfer position, and a loop formation controller for stopping the chucker C and driving only the upstream transportation roller 32b for loop formation. Both vector V2 corresponding to the direction of transportation by the pinch roller pair pair 40 at the chucker C stop position, and vector V1 corresponding to the direction of transportation by the upstream transportation roller pair 32b, are set for orientation towards the loop box 50.
