PURPOSE: To attain synchronization at the time of reproducing even in the case of non-signal by recording a scramble pattern incorporated with an identification code which can be visually read on a data track.

CONSTITUTION: Digital data scrambled according to the scramble pattern incorporating the ID code which can be visually read is recorded on motion picture film 10. A pattern generating means 22 provided in the reproducing device of the digital data generates the same pattern as the scramble pattern generated by a recording means. A reproducing means 21 reads the digital data recorded on the film 10. An exclusive OR gate 23 adds the generated scramble pattern and the read digital data. The reproducing means 21 synchronizes with the pattern generating means 22, and an OR gate 23 outputs the non-signal in the case the read digital data and the scramble pattern are the same.
