Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter medium and a method for producing the filter medium convenient to use and high in filtration efficiency as the filter medium for a cylindrical filter using synthetic fiber instead of a filter medium made of glass fiber.SOLUTION: The filter medium is formed of an assembly of a plurality of nonwoven fabric sheets in which thick main fibers and thin tie fibers made of polyester-based synthetic fibers are intermixed. The thickness of the main fibers is 15-60 dtex, and the thickness of the tie fibers is 1-10 dtex. The mixing ratio of the nonwoven fabric sheet in which the thick main fibers and thin tie fibers are intermixed is in a range of 5:5-9:1.
